Jammu — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed the 18th Annual Function of Mahavir (MV) International School at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. During his address, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the school administration, teachers, and students for their exceptional efforts and contributions towards educational excellence.

In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor focused on the need for a “knowledge revolution” to propel India into a developed nation, emphasizing the importance of sustaining growth across various sectors of the economy. He highlighted the role of education in shaping this progress and reiterated that empowering young minds would be the foundation for a brighter future.

“In Jammu and Kashmir, building capacity and transforming schools into centers of excellence have been central to my vision. We have successfully created a dynamic and competitive learning environment that harnesses the innovative ideas of our students,” LG Sinha remarked. He stressed that the role of teachers is crucial in realizing the inherent potential of students and emphasized that core competencies within J&K’s education system need to be aligned to build a stronger future.

The Lieutenant Governor also pointed out that learning should not merely revolve around tests and assessments. “Learning must be based on understanding, awareness, and the application of knowledge,” he said. “It is essential that the younger generation is connected with moral values and the practical aspects of life.”

Further elaborating on educational reforms, the Lieutenant Governor spoke about the dynamic teaching-learning ecosystem in J&K, where teachers are encouraged to go beyond the curriculum and share their wisdom and experiences with students. “Unless teachers are empowered, students will not be empowered. And unless students are empowered, the nation cannot be strong,” he stated.

Touching upon the advancements in the education sector, LG Sinha credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for spearheading an educational revolution across the nation. He also addressed the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on modern education. “AI should support the classroom experience, not replace the teacher,” said the Lieutenant Governor, urging educational institutions to adopt AI as a tool to enhance teacher-student engagement and not as a complete substitute for traditional teaching methods. “Our strategy should be Artificial Intelligence-supported classrooms, not AI-led classrooms,” he added.
