Pune, December 19: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday underscored the challenges faced by minority communities globally and emphasized India’s pivotal role in fostering world peace.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Hindu Seva Mahotsav’, Bhagwat remarked, “While India is often advised to address the issues of its minorities, we are now witnessing the dire situations faced by minority communities in other countries.”

Global Peace and Hegemony Concerns
Bhagwat criticized the contradiction in global narratives around peace. “Big announcements are being made about world peace. At the same time, wars persist, and attempts are being made to establish hegemony under the guise of peace,” he said.

Although Bhagwat refrained from directly mentioning the recent violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, the RSS has recently expressed concerns regarding the safety of Hindus following political changes in the neighboring country.

India’s Dharma and Global Responsibility
The RSS chief elaborated on the universal relevance of ‘Manav Dharma’ (humanity), describing it as ‘Vishwa Dharma’ (world religion) rooted in Hindu principles. “The world has forgotten this eternal dharma, leading to various crises, including environmental challenges,” Bhagwat stated.

He highlighted global expectations from India, emphasizing its rich traditions and historical contributions to peace. “Many believe that world peace is unattainable without India’s involvement. Our heritage has demonstrated this for 3,000 years. It is now our responsibility to fulfill this need of the world,” he affirmed.

The event reflected the RSS’s commitment to promoting human values and addressing contemporary global challenges through India’s cultural and spiritual ethos.
