The IGP Railways provided an overview of security enhancements for railway stations and tracks, outlining a clear roadmap to strengthen railway safety.
Lieutenant Governor’s Strong Directive
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the complete elimination of terrorism in the Jammu Division.
โWe should not even have remnants of terrorism in Jammu region. Take effective steps to wipe-out terrorism and ensure complete dismantling of the infrastructure and local support of terrorism,โ said the LG.
He urged the J&K Police to take swift and decisive action against anyone providing logistical or financial support to terrorist activities. “Every individual or group trying to instill fear in society should be labeled as terrorist and punished as per the law,” he emphasized.
A Multi-Pronged Approach to Strengthen Policing and Security
The Lieutenant Governor outlined several key strategies for enhancing policing effectiveness and tackling terror-related threats:
- Technology-Driven Policing: A focus on improving cyber patrolling and monitoring, and innovative strategies to counter threats.
- Intelligence Gathering: Credible intelligence and real-time sharing of operational details are paramount in the fight against terrorism.
- Action Against Narco-Terrorism: Enhanced measures to curb the nexus between drugs and terrorism.
- Capacity Building: Strengthening the police force with modern tools and training to tackle conventional and non-conventional threats.
Strengthening Border Security
Addressing the challenges posed by porous borders and difficult terrain, the Lieutenant Governor called for stronger border security measures.

Legal Reforms and Local-Level Policing
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the importance of strengthening the legal framework to combat terror propagandists. He called for improved policing at the local level, equipping police stations with modern resources for more efficient policing.
