In the ongoing 1st Sikh Premier Cricket League at the University of Jammu ground, Khalsa Cricket Club and Janta Warriors Cricket Club registered thrilling victories in their respective matches. The tournament is organized by Hari Singh Nalwa Cricket Club under the banner of the Sikh Coordination Committee J&K.
In the opening match, Khalsa Cricket Club set a challenging total of 164/6 in 20 overs after being put into bat. Robin Singh played a blistering knock of 66 runs off 41 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes. He was well supported by Harpreet Singh (30) and Jaspreet Singh (23). For Diamond Cricket Club, Pawandeep Singh (2/30) and Gurpreet Singh (2/35) were the standout bowlers.
In reply, Diamond Cricket Club fell just one run short, scoring 163/8 in 20 overs. Jagandeep Singh starred with the bat, scoring 45 runs off 28 balls, while Baljinder Singh (38) and Gurpreet Singh (29) also contributed valuable runs. Khalsa’s Dutta Gagandeep was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for 14 runs. Robin Singh was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
In the second match, Janta Warriors Cricket Club chased down Bali Cricket Club’s target of 158 runs with ease, finishing at 159/5 in 18.4 overs. Gurmeet Singh was the hero, scoring 61 runs off 39 balls, while Amrit Pal Singh contributed an unbeaten 56 runs. Bali Cricket Club had managed 157/9 in 20 overs, with Satpal Singh (29) and Daman Wazir (22) top-scoring. Hardeep Singh and Vikramjeet Singh took 2 wickets each for Janta Warriors. Gurmeet Singh was named Player of the Match for his excellent batting performance.
