Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has emphasized that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be eliminated without the active support of the people. Speaking to reporters outside the Assembly, he reiterated that while security is primarily a Union Government responsibility, his administration is committed to assisting in maintaining peace across the Union Territory.

🔴 Terror Alert in Kathua
Omar’s remarks come in the wake of an ongoing anti-terror operation in Sanyal, near the International Border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.

The Chief Minister stated that these incidents are not new to the region and cautioned against premature conclusions, adding that the terrorists may have infiltrated from across the border.
