Shri Machail Mata Temple, located in the serene Machail Valley of District Kishtwar, was formally reopened to devotees today on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, marking the beginning of the annual yatra season.
As part of the sacred ritual, the idol (Murti) of Goddess Machail Mata (Durga) was ceremoniously shifted from the residence of the local priest, Pehalwan Singh, to the main temple amidst Vedic chants and a vibrant fair.
The grand reopening was attended by MLA Paddar-Nagseni Sunil Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan, all of whom offered prayers at the shrine.
During the visit, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar also held a detailed review of the arrangements for the upcoming Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2025, emphasizing a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience for all devotees.
