Services continued to dominate the medal tally, maintaining a strong lead with only two competition days left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kujur\u2019s Golden Double<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 21-year-old Animesh Kujur<\/strong>, representing Odisha<\/strong>, added the 200m gold<\/strong> to his collection, which already included titles in the 100m<\/strong> and 4x100m relay<\/strong> from earlier in the competition. Kujur clocked 20.58 seconds<\/strong>, narrowly missing the National Games record<\/strong> of 20.55 seconds<\/strong>, set by Amlan Borgohain<\/strong> of Assam in the 2022 edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yarraji Adds Another Gold<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jyothi Yarraji<\/strong>, the 25-year-old sprinter from Andhra Pradesh<\/strong>, also claimed gold in the women\u2019s 200m<\/strong> event with a time of 23.35 seconds<\/strong>. This victory added to her earlier win in the 100m hurdles<\/strong> on Sunday, securing a remarkable double.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chanda Sets New Record<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women\u2019s 800m<\/strong>, Delhi\u2019s KM Chanda<\/strong> improved her own Games record with a time of 2:00.82<\/strong>, bettering her previous record of 2:01.58<\/strong> set in 2022. It was a grand double for Chanda as she had already claimed gold in the 1500m<\/strong>, marking her third consecutive gold at the National Games after winning in 2022 and 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Services Continue to Dominate the Medal Count<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Services added an impressive 17 medals<\/strong> on Tuesday, including nine golds<\/strong>, to maintain their position at the top of the overall medal tally with 54 gold, 22 silver, and 21 bronze<\/strong>, for a total of 97 medals<\/strong>. The top team from the last edition, Maharashtra<\/strong>, remained in second place with 144 medals<\/strong> (41 gold, 51 silver, 52 bronze), while Karnataka<\/strong> secured third with 75 medals<\/strong> (33 gold, 18 silver, 24 bronze).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Race Walkers Break Records<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an unprecedented performance, all nine competitors<\/strong> in the women\u2019s 10km race walk<\/strong> bettered the previous Games record, which had stood for 26 years. Haryana\u2019s Ravina<\/strong> clinched gold with a time of 45:52 seconds<\/strong>, smashing the old record of 51:56 seconds<\/strong> set by Y Bala Devi<\/strong> in 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the men\u2019s 20km race walk<\/strong>, six competitors<\/strong> out of 10<\/strong> improved the previous record set in 2011. Servin Sebastian<\/strong> of Services won the gold with a personal best of 1:21:23<\/strong>, followed by Suraj Panwar<\/strong> of Uttarakhand<\/strong> with 1:21:34<\/strong> and Amanjot Singh<\/strong> of Punjab<\/strong> who clocked 1:21:42<\/strong> for the bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tennis and Gymnastics Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In tennis, Vaidehi Chaudhary<\/strong> of Gujarat<\/strong> claimed her second gold medal by winning the women\u2019s singles<\/strong>, defeating Vaishnavi Adkar<\/strong> of Maharashtra<\/strong> in straight sets (6-4, 6-4). Chaudhary had already won the women\u2019s doubles<\/strong> gold with Zeel Desai<\/strong> earlier in the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the men\u2019s singles, Ishak Iqbal<\/strong> of Services<\/strong> made a strong comeback to defeat Dev Javia<\/strong> of Gujarat<\/strong> in a thrilling three-set match (3-6, 6-4, 7-6(5)).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In gymnastics<\/strong>, Maharashtra<\/strong> continued its dominance, winning five golds<\/strong> and two silvers<\/strong>. Their gymnasts outperformed rivals in various events, including men\u2019s and women\u2019s acrobatic group events<\/strong>, acrobatic mixed pair<\/strong>, and men\u2019s trampoline<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judo, Sattal, and Other Sports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In judo, Unnati Sharma<\/strong> of Uttarakhand<\/strong> clinched gold in the women\u2019s -63kg<\/strong> division, while Garima Chaudhary<\/strong> of Haryana<\/strong> won gold in the -70kg<\/strong> category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In mountain biking, Pranita Prafull Soman<\/strong> of Maharashtra<\/strong> won gold in the women\u2019s elite XCO event, while Kushiman Gharti<\/strong> of Services<\/strong> took the men\u2019s elite XCO gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In netball<\/strong>, Haryana<\/strong> won both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Fast 5<\/strong> golds, defeating Kerala<\/strong> and Telangana<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
