All Deputy Commissioners joined via video conference.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Project-wise Review<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Chief Secretary undertook a detailed project- and package-wise review of all major highways, seeking precise timelines and asking executing agencies to identify bottlenecks.<\/p>\n<p> He stressed that extraction permissions for construction material must be strictly regulated and used only for authorised works.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Commissioners were directed to expedite <strong>compensation cases<\/strong> and ensure immediate land handover to executing agencies. He also instructed timely grant of <strong>forest clearances<\/strong> to avoid project delays.<\/p>\n<p>Divisional Commissioners were told to engage regularly with implementing agencies to resolve issues quickly and maintain work momentum. Dulloo emphasised that while the administration will extend full support, agencies must strictly follow deadlines.<\/p>\n<p>The PWD was asked to finalise new <strong>DPRs<\/strong> under formulation at the earliest, enabling early tendering and execution.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Major Corridors Reviewed<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A comprehensive review was held on several flagship corridors, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Srinagar\u2013Baramulla\u2013Uri Road<\/li>\n<li>Khanabal\u2013Baltal Road<\/li>\n<li>Peer ki Gali and Sadhna Tunnel alignments<\/li>\n<li>Akhnoor\u2013Poonch Road<\/li>\n<li>NH-144A dredging permissions<\/li>\n<li>Mangam\u2013Doodhpathri\u2013Shopian\u2013Poonch Road<\/li>\n<li>Delhi\u2013Amritsar\u2013Katra Expressway<\/li>\n<li>Kaluchak\u2013Purmandal\u2013Domel Road<\/li>\n<li>Fourth Tawi Bridge, Jammu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Focus on NH-44 and Tunnel Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Special emphasis was laid on expediting work on NH-44, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nashri\u2013Chenani Road via Patnitop<\/li>\n<li>Marog\u2013Digdol Tunnel<\/li>\n<li>Digdol\u2013Khuni Nallah Tunnel<\/li>\n<li>Makarkot\u2013Sherbibi Tunnel<\/li>\n<li>Black-topping of Banihal\u2013Ramban stretch before December end<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Divisional Commissioner Jammu was instructed to closely monitor progress and submit regular reports.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ring Roads &amp; Metropolitan Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The meeting reviewed progress on the <strong>Jammu and Srinagar Ring Road<\/strong> projects, covering land issues, connectivity needs, and construction status.<\/p>\n<p> Discussions were also held on the Jammu tunnel and improved connectivity for the Srinagar Ring Road, especially towards the Airport and from Sumbal to Wayil.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>NHIDCL &amp; NHAI DPRs Reviewed<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Key NHIDCL projects reviewed included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jammu\u2013Akhnoor Road<\/li>\n<li>Bhagwati Chowk\u2013Canal Head riding surface improvement<\/li>\n<li>Chenani\u2013Sudhmahadev Road<\/li>\n<li>Goha\u2013Khellani and Khellani\u2013Khanabal stretches<\/li>\n<li>Zojila Tunnel<\/li>\n<li>Revised DPRs under finalisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NHAI\u2019s upcoming DPRs reviewed included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New Fourth Tawi Bridge<\/li>\n<li>Jammu Ring Road Phase-II<\/li>\n<li>Six-laning of Chenani\u2013Nashri Tunnel<\/li>\n<li>Srinagar Ring Road Phase-III<\/li>\n<li>Sumbal\u2013Bandipora\u2013Gurez Road<\/li>\n<li>Service road on Srinagar\u2013Qazigund Highway<\/li>\n<li>Kathua\u2013Basholi\u2013Bani\u2013Bafliaz\u2013Doda Road, among others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>R&amp;B Sector Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Progress on major R&amp;B projects was assessed, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bypasses for <strong>Pulwama, Kulgam, and Shopian<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Sanat Nagar Flyover<\/li>\n<li>Tengpora Service Road<\/li>\n<li>Bridges at Chanapora and Tengpora<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New proposals included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Parimpora\u2013Shalteng Flyover<\/li>\n<li>Old Padshahibagh Bridge<\/li>\n<li>Lal Chowk\u2013Parimpora Flyover<\/li>\n<li>Several other critical connectivity works<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to review the status of major highway and road development projects underway across Jammu &amp; Kashmir under Project Beacon, Project Sampark, NHAI, NHIDCL and the Public Works (R&amp;B) Department.
