Delhi\u2019s air quality continued to remain in the \u2018poor\u2019 category during the morning hours on Tuesday, with the city\u2019s average Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 293, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board\u2019s Sameer app.<\/p>\n
Station-wise data revealed that Chandni Chowk recorded the worst air quality, with an AQI of 352, placing it in the \u2018very poor\u2019 category. Of the monitoring stations across the city, 20 recorded \u2018very poor\u2019 air quality, 15 fell under the \u2018poor\u2019 category, while two stations reported \u2018moderate\u2019 air quality.<\/p>\n
As per CPCB standards, an AQI of 0\u201350 is classified as \u2018good\u2019, 51\u2013100 as \u2018satisfactory\u2019, 101\u2013200 \u2018moderate\u2019, 201\u2013300 \u2018poor\u2019, 301\u2013400 \u2018very poor\u2019 and 401\u2013500 \u2018severe\u2019. On Monday, Delhi\u2019s 24-hour average AQI stood at 244, also in the \u2018poor\u2019 category.<\/p>\n
The Air Quality Early Warning System has forecast that the city\u2019s air quality is likely to remain in the poor to very poor range over the next six days.<\/p>\n
On the weather front, shallow fog was observed in parts of the national capital during the morning hours. The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.7 degrees above the seasonal average. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 18 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n
The India Meteorological Department reported relative humidity levels of up to 100 per cent in some parts of the city during the morning. Station-wise data showed that Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, while Palam registered a slightly lower minimum of 6.5 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
