{"id":4427,"date":"2026-03-13T08:08:16","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T08:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/probharatnews.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/13\/supreme-court-stays-part-of-delhi-high-court-order-in-mahua-moitra-cash-for-query-case\/"},"modified":"2026-03-13T08:08:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T08:08:16","slug":"supreme-court-stays-part-of-delhi-high-court-order-in-mahua-moitra-cash-for-query-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/probharatnews.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/13\/supreme-court-stays-part-of-delhi-high-court-order-in-mahua-moitra-cash-for-query-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Stays Part of Delhi High Court Order in Mahua Moitra Cash-for-Query Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Supreme Court of India<\/strong> on Friday stayed a portion of a <strong>December 2025<\/strong> order passed by the <strong>Delhi High Court<\/strong>, which had allowed the <strong>Lokpal of India<\/strong> to consider granting sanction to the <strong>Central Bureau of Investigation<\/strong> (CBI) to file a chargesheet against <strong>Mahua Moitra<\/strong>, a Member of Parliament from the <strong>All India Trinamool Congress<\/strong>, in the alleged cash-for-query scam.<\/p>\n<p>A bench comprising Chief Justice of India <strong>Surya Kant<\/strong> and Justice <strong>Joymalya Bagchi<\/strong> issued notices to Moitra, the CBI, and <strong>Nishikant Dubey<\/strong>, BJP MP and complainant in the case, on a plea filed by the Lokpal challenging the high court\u2019s order.<\/p>\n<h3>High Court Order Challenged<\/h3>\n<p>On <strong>December 19, 2025<\/strong>, the Delhi High Court had set aside an earlier order of the Lokpal that granted sanction to the CBI to file a chargesheet against Moitra in the alleged scam.<\/p>\n<p>In its judgment, the high court had directed the Lokpal to reconsider the matter.
