Washington, Jun 1: The U.S. said it conducted \u201cself-defense \u200bstrikes\u201d on Iranian radar and \u200cdrone control sites in Iran\u2019s Goruk and Qeshm Island at the weekend in what \u200bit said was a \u200bresponse to \u201caggressive\u201d actions from Tehran.
The U.S. \u2060Central Command said in a \u200bpost on X that Iran had \u200bshot down a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters.<\/p>\n
CENTCOM said U.S. \u200bfighter aircraft responded by eliminating \u200bIranian air defenses, a ground control station, \u200cand \u2060two one-way attack drones.
It added that no U.S. military personnel were harmed.
The two countries had traded strikes \u200blast week \u200bas \u2060well with Iran targeting a U.S. air base after \u200bthe U.S. military carried \u200bout \u2060what a Washington official said were strikes targeting an Iranian drone \u2060operation \u200bnear the Strait of \u200bHormuz.
